Shavill I take my junk coins to coin stare yes I know it cost sum $ to turn them in but I figure it is less likely that I will get them same coins back to sort again,it is just my opinion.  |

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I'll try to put some pics up on here someday. 4721butch - not a fan of Wes Craven, I am a motor racing fan and am a fan of former driver Ricky Craven (plus that screen name I use most everywhere I go!). A few more penny breaks for you all. Last night I busted ten rolls from work. I am not going to post the breakdown like I did for the box for these breaks as these rolls I actually reassemble (they are the clear plastic rolls) and swap out the following days at work:
Wheaties - 2 (1936, 1944)
Old Canadian - 1957
Plus two Wheaties from customers - 1945 & 1955D
On the Canadian front - I keep all pre-1964 pennies. I also keep the 1967 dove pennies as well as one penny from each year/mintmark/magneticity.
Busted another box today from my personal bank which uses the paper rolls. Did alright again:
Penny Breakdown
Wheat Pennies: 13 (1934, 1940, 1941 (2), 1944 (2), 1946, 1950D, 1953, 1953D (2), 1956D, 1957D)
Lincoln Heritage Pennies: 25 (all four varieties, both mintmarks for none)
Lincoln Shield Pennies: 76 (both mintmarks)
Canadian Pennies: 24 (oldest 1966)
That is all for now. I hope to hit up another branch bank tomorrow if I feel up to it - stupid head cold kept me in today but I talked the wife into picking this one up for me. Happy searching and thanks again for the welcome!

Scott, you doing mighty fine finding them wheaties, congrats. I had four from this last box and none of them where anything of note. Best thing from this box was a fine 71s and a bright shiny MS 64.

I just got my first box. Man, those are heavy! I am 10 rolls in, and pulled 5 wheats from the 40's, 2 Canadians from the 60's, and a possible proof memorial. (pics soon)

4721butch - not offended at all lol. I'll have another break here after a bit - once again I have a foreign coin staring at me except this time I am not sure what it is. I'll just have to open it to find out!

Dad gum Butch you got it going there with them wheatie S's. Basically what you have one of I have none of. I been wondering if I would ever find a 55s which would finish one more page of my folder. Gonna bust them rolls till Oct 31 2011 if don't find one by then going to buy me one of them bad boys.

Well, another alright box. This box came from a branch bank of the one I use here in town. I was curious to see how different the stock might be. The answer seems to be right on cue with my regular bank. 4721butch - I keep all non-Canadian foreign coins. I find them just the coolest - I know most aren't worth the US denomination I got them as, but to find them in circulation here and wonder what path they took to find my hands is just neat. Just like with the Bermuda penny, this piece was staring right at me through one of the peek holes in the box - and it was the only non-Canadian foreign just like last time. Without further adieu:
Penny Breakdown
Wheat Pennies: 11 (1940 (2), 1944, 1946, 1948, 1950D, 1952D, 1953D, 1956D, 1957D (2))
Lincoln Heritage Pennies: 3 (all four varieties, both mintmarks for none)
Lincoln Shield Pennies: 62 (all 'P')
Canadian Pennies: 44 (1946, 1950, 1964 (2), plus 40 additional)
Other Foreign: 2001 Norway 50 Ore

Just when I think my boxes can't get any better, I prove myself wrong! Today's box contained 8 wheats. Notable ones include a 1919, 1920, 1936, and a BEAUTIFUL MS Red-Brown 1934! (If only I could post a picture!  ) Found no Canadians this box, but I found my first Bahamian cent! Go me! Top it off with an astounding 25% copper rate and I've got one of the best CRH'ing experiences I've had yet. |
