Where did you buy this paper wrapped box ? Or is just a bank that in special use the paper wrap stand the plastic ones I get all the time !

only IHC's I've found where working a cash register Found an entire roll! Best was an 1909. Had to make a customer wait while I got a new roll to give them change. No way they were gettin my find! |

I found a 1907 in EF in my very first bag....120,000 pennies later and not another one...that bag also had a nice 1909 lincoln so I'm guessing somebody dumped something they shouldn't have.

I was lucky to find a 1909 Indian Head in a brinks roll. I ended up finding 7 last year. Three in rolls, including the 1909, and the other four came in one bank bag together. The 1909 did not have that little 's' on the reverse. No matter how many times I looked...nope, not there.

Hoosier Daddy - seven IHC's !  . I haven't come within a country mile of one... course I've only been through about 80000 cents. I did make a nice find the other day, while out looking for hand wrapped rolls. I see 10 rolls wrapped with a rubber band in a teller's drawer  . A group of coins wrapped like this in a rubber band means you've got one guy who just turned in a bunch of coins ! Now it could be he wrapped them in a roll because he couldn't get them through a Coinstar machine. It could also mean somebody is just now turning in a bunch of coins that have been out of circulation a long time... Sure enough, in the 500 coins - I find about 74 MS 63-64 coins  . Most coins are between 1978 and 1999! Many of these coins would have been full BU (MS65 or higher), but for the small bubbling, (like pimples under the surface), the cents from the 80's always seem to have  no camera yet - or I would include pics... About 25% copper as well, (which is high) in my region. Nothing rare, but some definite upgrades to my 83-89 cents especially  |

LastGold, one thing I am also doing is saving the very nice pennies from the 80's and 90's simply because they do tend to blister and bubble...there are a few people that believe they will be valuable fairly quickly because of that.

Wow long thread... I found a 1999 WAM not to long ago, talked about that in the Modern errors and varieties section. I love my fully red BU 1960's cents, though, and have accumulated quite a few of them at this point. More excited to find those than wheats, by far. |

Maineman750: I agree with you on the 80's cents. I started out waiting for real gems in these years (MS 64+). Got tired of waiting, [  ] and started collecting them all the way down to AU50 ! It is nice to know that there are at least some MID grade UNC coins in the 80's out there. That infernal blistering will very soon make a true MS65, especially in the years 83,84 and 85 very valuable ! |

Results from one box of cents: 8 Wheats - 1910S, 1944D, 1946D, two 1952D, 1954D, 1956D, and a 1958D 2 Canadians - 1974 and 2005 1 cent counterstamped with an angel Here are pics of the 1910S. My pictures don't show the details well, all letters are easily readable in hand. I think it would grade G4.   |

by the way, do brinks penny boxes have better finds in them, and where do you get them? I find like 8 or 9 wheats per box, but someone with the brink box found like 32 and an indian head.

I prefer Brinks boxes... around me, they're recycled from bank coin counter bags, so the finds are usually solid.
That's a beautiful '58 you found, murr. I haven't found a wheat quite that nice yet, but I have a couple that are close. :)

by the way, where do you purchase brinks boxes? and what is your average wheat cents per box at brinks?
