Just finished four boxes of Lincoln Cents. (10,000 coins). I pulled 1864 copper cents. (total includes wheats and Canadian cents). Usually I get about 18.4% copper, so that total is about normal for this area (San Diego). I normally get about 40 wheats per 10,000 coins, but this time got 87! So I guess that is worth one of these - . Still have not got any 98,99 or 00 WAMS, 92 CAM (I know they are really rare), no 84 Dbl ear, no IHC's, and so far not even one 2009 #4 (presidency) cent. All of these, (except maybe IHC's) are much easier to find on the East coast. I do get plenty of what the West coast offers ("S" mints, and of course truckloads of "D" mints). When the stray Philly coin is located, it is generally in horrific condition, so that for all purposes it is worthless anyway. So I am going to try and BUY some East coast cents! I am offering 20% over face value + handling costs. Please see my offer in the "Wanted to Buy" section. Best, LastGold

My Dad travels somewhat often for buisiness, so I am trying to get him to get me a box of cents next time he is on the east coast.

Congrats Willy - that's a nice pull there. I'm not sure on the grading, but it isn't too far from mint state if it isn't there!

Thanks, maybe I'll post in the grading area. It was a fun find, it just jump out at me when I dumped the roll into my hands.:)

You guys always crack me up...it doesn't matter where you get your boxes of cents...East coast,West coast or Iowa! Its all chance! Its all random...isn't that why we roll search?

^Not True! A lot of varieties are regionally distributed. Take the 1955 doubled die. The VAST majority of them were found in the New England region. Or more contemporary...wam s are way more likely to be found in areas supplied by the Philly mint. Random sure but location does increase or decrease your chances of finding specific varieties....IMHO

Agree with Amida..look at some of the polls we did on WAM's and RDV-006..how many and where they were found. Then look at us east coast guys saving S mints like they were special...they are, but only on the east coast

yep, just earlier ricardocody said he finds 1.5-2 WAMS for every s mint wheat he gets. but I on the other hand get 1 WAM for every 50 or so s mint wheats. he is east coast and I am west. depends on which region the mints are located.

I am doing Whitman folders with my daughter for LWC's and LMC's. I have been buying boxes and searching with her. While on a road trip this weekend I asked for a box from a bank on the way. I was bored on the interstate, and I figured I could search as I drove. Anyway, A bank in a southern state agreed to sell me a box of $25. But, the teller said she had $20 in Brinks rolls and $5 in CWR's. The CWR's have been awesome (normally not as good in my opinion). The first I opened had about 10-15 wheats, 5-10 brilliant 1962-1982 LMC's and the whole roll was copper. Anyway, I decided to save the rolls for my daughter. We have searched 5 rolls so far and found 70 wheats (all 1940 to 1958 so common), a ton of BU brilliant LMC's from 1962 to 1982, and the rolls are 90-95% copper. When my daughter opened her first roll she was almost overwhelmed. With every LWC she found she kept exclaiming "wheat penny, Wheat penny". Her first roll had 29 of them... Fun stuff and she has filled a few holes in her 1941 to 1974 folder.

That is totally cool Nobis keep that young lady getting after it. I am firmly in the regional thing for certain varieties, I have yet to find any type of WAM down her on the coast of Texas (6 months of looking at 40.00 a weeks worth) and folks in the N.E. find them pretty regularly.
