I too am new to cent rolls, I'm sure you have heard this question before but, do you all have better luck with cwr's or the plastic rolls? My bank uses Brinks. I have never had any luck with Brinks dimes or quarters. So I was wondering what kind of luck I would have with there pennies.

The last 1999 Wide AM was from a Brinks roll. I usually like the bags straight from the counting machines. I think that you get more than one source dumping on them. The best finds are where someone has dumped a large quantity that they have held a while. I like to see where most of the coins are within a three or so year window and mostly BU. I found a 1984 double ear and several of the 1999 Wide A M's like that. I did pick up $400 in customer wrapped rolls a few months ago and scored two of the major 2004 DDR's. However, I will usually look through what I can get.

I can get bags from the Credit Union, but that is where I always dump. I just ask around at other banks to see if they will sell bags. Most banks will not because they are unaudited. Once the bag comes off of the machine, the bank assumes that there is $50 in it. This is how much credit that given to people back as cash or as deposit. Most banks will not let them go out to customers because they are afraid that whoever bought the bag will come back and say that the bag was short. The bank where I get bags knows that if I pay $50 for the bag, then the transaction is complete. I would not complain about it being short. I know the risk of being short and also know the risk of not being able to get additional bags, if I complain, in the future. I don't even count the cents in the bag (don't want to know). Just ask around, there are banks out there that will sell the bags. It is also an option for the banks to order bags instead of boxes. I don't see that there would be any difference though.
