Les, well that's a tough call. I noticed a large amount of the coins seemed to be the same date, little variety at all in mints. In my previous picture with the stacks of pennies. The two large stacks were all from 1920 to 1929. The small stack was either 1919 or 1818 pennies no others. The ones singled out either had mint marks or were dates that were unique. Its defiantly suspicious so I wont be buying again. Although I was happy to see many early dates. I'll just leave it to one purchase and move on to getting bank rolls.

Brinks box today, here are the lackluster results 18.8% copper 8 wheats all common dates 4 Canadian Though I did get one interesting counterstamp. I have heard of these but wonder if they have any collector interest or added value  |

pennycollecter93, thanks for the info... I was tempted myself, but not if they have been searched... so who can you trust? That ebay seller had a good story about having bags and bags of them, too many to search. So do you think at least got value for the usable coins you "found" in this auction? Or could you have just purchased them separately for the same cost? I guess in all fairness, part of the title of this thread is "from bank rolls" so in that spirit, I'll continue to keep building my Lincoln collection from boxes from the bank... patience, Grasshopper, patience. Strange... I've searched many boxes of cents and I've never found a counterstamp... strange indeed

I found a few counterstamped cents, but none with the popular Kennedy on it.
unholyroller - Some people collect counterstamps, the value depends on the coin, the stamp and the collector. Something like the Kennedy one is perhaps 25 cents or so.

Only counter stamp I have found is a free mason one.

AHHHHHHHHH...was working on box 19 last night and saw several with marks on Lincolns ear. Seriously? And they were all on Pre-1982 LMC. Nothing special yet again...handful of wheaties (40's-50's), typical amount of copper. Still no IHC :( |

Is this the Zorb microscope you guys mentioned on page 341 of this thread? If so, I want one if I can save up for one! :D My eyes getting worse the last few months and to see the image on my computer screen would sure rock, plus if I can save the images to my computer I could finally post decent photos of coins. A few weeks ago when I bought my Zorb off of Amazon, it was under $30, but it seems they raised it a bit now, but I think it's still worth it! Here is a counterstamp I found today in my roll searching. Actually, there were EIGHT of these in the same bank roll! Strange, but cool...   Taken with my Zorb. Les |
