I have probably done about 10-15 boxes of pennies and never found a steelie --altho I did find one last week in the coin slot (coin machine) I was dumping halves at the time : )

I have found 52 steelies in eight years of searching. 50 of them were in a single,customer-wrapped roll,so essentially 2 in eight years.

so I am pretty irritated. picked up a box the other day I only found one pre-82 in the entire box. not even a wheat ear. matter of fact the 82 that I found is probably a zinc cent.

Half way through a box yesterday I found a 1912! Pretty rough condition...but hey he's a hundred years old!  |

I posted this over in the Modern US Variety and Error Coins, but since it was a roll find, thought it might fit well in here also. I also found a 1983 off center strike, but it isn't as dramatic as this 2000 Lincoln. Unfortunately, the reverse is scratched up.   |

This may be a first for CRHers.... I found a fish hook in a roll of cents...Yes...a fish hook in between 2 cents...

The scratching is PMD, prolly from being pried out of a counter when it jammed. |
