BadThad For some reason, your counterstamped pic reminded me of a coin that I found in my fathers collection... For whatever reason...he kept this one. Probably just for laughs... 'Cause that's what I did when I found it...

Indeed, I've been hoping to find the pipe one.

Looks like someone playing around with a stamp. They were probably trying to make some counterfeit gold bars or something.
On a side note, I had an unusual roll today. Inside it were THREE 1974-S's in AU and THREE 1940's Wheats in EF....very unusual roll.

one I found tonight... My "dump bank" (aren't you proud of me!...I'm learing the lingo here! ) is a local BOA. I dropped off some rolled coin, and noticed a partial box of their *plastic-wrapped* cents...$9.50 worth. I decided to gamble a bit, and bought the box. This branch ships all of their paper-rolled coin out each night, and only distributes rolled coin that has been shipped in. I found 2 '50's wheaties...and a few other nice '60's and '70's.

Another interesting roll. For the most part, I'm only searching for wheaties, and "newer-looking" copper cents...but these 50 were found in an unmarked roll...and they were just too pretty to re-roll and give back to the bank... That "glow" in the lower-right is partially due to the lighting...and partially due to the coin. It's not nearly as bright in this pic, but it still stands out... Here's a closer view of it...It's luster is very different from the rest... All by itself... I'm honestly not a fan of the zinc cents...but this one really caught my eye. (my apologies for the resolution of the pics...I kept it big to show as much detail as possible) I'm new here...so feel free to scold me as needed. :)

What is that on his head by the eye?

I've no clue Mike...thanks for noticing it. I'll take a few more close-ups of the coin and see if the pics will show some better detail. I just noticed a good sized "dent" to the right of his shoulder too now...

sheesh...the "dent" appears to be a button hole now that I've put my glasses on.
I'm new here...I'm allowed to make these kinds of mistakes...lol
