My bank...I use for dumping the returns. I have never had an issue with getting coins from any bank branch except for a credit union. I can understand why a credit union would not issue coinage to a non member as they pay a membership fee. Don't be afraid to ask for rolls or even a box of coins. The worst thing they can say is "sorry...we do not have any available.". If you strike out...move on to the next bank. Be sure to be polite when talking to the tellers. Do not be afraid to say that you are a coin collector. There is nothing wrong with pursuing your hobby. Every bank I goto knows who I am and why I'm there. Report this Post to the Staff

It's their right to set the policy for themselves. Just as it is your right to ask there or go elsewhere. The only bank that I was turned down at had a competitor right across the parking lot and I went there and got what I was looking for. Report this Post to the Staff

The smaller one by my house loves it when I pick up pennies as they hate dealing with them. I went to a larger branch once and they gave me a hard time ( I have multiple Accts there). This made me mad so I now use the larger one that gave me a hard time as a drop location. They really get mad when they see me come in with 150$ in pennies. For the most part banks are very nice about it. Try to catch them at slow times, if you go on a Friday at 5 they might give you some resistance Report this Post to the Staff
