So, folks pluck them from circulation quicker than say, a 2008 LMC or a 2010 LSC. Given that the Jefferson nickel mintages for that year were low, it may have also translated into "anything from 2009 is rarer". That's just my speculation though. The final reverse, the Presidency cents are the least common and Philadelphia produced the fewest for 3 of the 4 varieties. That being said, finding 2009s, and ones in AU condition, is noticeably more difficult, but far from impossible. |

There are more than enough for collector demand which means these will be cheap for decades. The only ones worth saving would be very high grade examples, i.e. MS-66 and up. My girlfriends cousin is visiting and while riding in here car noticed a huge hoard probably $15 worth of pennies in her center console. She let me go through it since she knows I like coin and came up with about $3 in coppers, a 72 s mint, 2 39 wheats, a 44 wheat and a 55 wheat. Pretty happy I went though them because I love saving wheats and copper pennies. Also this is my 200th post.

Came across this one a couple of rolls into a new box last night. Is this a proof? Super deep cameo. Not sure pic will really show how deep it is.  |

Managed only 4 rolls on my break at work this morning. 2 wheats, 4 canadians. But 62 copper coins. So I am happy with that. Also found 6 1959's, I know there is no special reason to keep these but I like making rolls of them.

Got two $50 bags from the bank and found 12 lbs of copper. A 1901 Indian my first in quite a while. A Mexican silver 20 centavos so worn I cannot tell the date. It is weird the way it is worn the rim is OK but the center is worn?  Edited by trapper

How do you get bags of coins? Is that something you have to special order like getting boxes of halves?

Interesting finds - I wonder what that coin is? Album - I agree. Something about the 60s cents giving depth and when you find one in AU condition or better, the luster is great and surface more mirror like. I suppose that's what leads folks to think that they have a proof. Here are two interesting coins from the last CRH. 1957 "BIE" LWC    1961 D (pictures don't do it justice - mirror like with deep cameo; light wear on the high spots)   Net: 22 LWCs (1919), 5 S Mint LMCs, 16 Foreign, and 5 2009 Lincolns from 1000 cents searched. |
