Hello! Glad to see some awesome finds guys

Got another box today, although it was a crappy one... In total I found 6 wheats from the 40's and 50's, 5 canadian pennies, and a 1974 S penny (I'm going to stat keeping S mintmark LMC's from the 70's)

Here are the Wheat penny dates:
1944 D
1952 D (Found this one on the end of the roll, wheats showing )
1955 D
1956 D
1957 D
1958 D

As stated, I found 5 canadian cents:
1966
1979
1987
1999

All in all, it wasnt that bad. Good luck!

Box I just opened yesterday:

250 wheat pennies (you read it right)...(too many different dates/mm's to name), 2 Indian Head cents (1906 and 1898), and I haven't gone through it for coppers and doubles etc yet.

got another box today and the first roll was 11 wheats with one being a 1910.

Jogging Liberty: What an AWESOME box! Most of us are lucky to average 6 - 10 wheaties per box, insofar as the old coins are concerned. That is just so cool. Makes me want to run out an buy another box today.

jogging liberty, I started just like you, with amazing luck. Mine it hard now when you can, because once it is gone, you are not likely to find it again. At 25 dollars a box, get all that you can. chocolate may be appropriate with this many wheats on the line. mine hard, report after.

Yeah I'm pretty impressed by 250 in a box too...I was so impressed that I went back out today for another box to find that the new one had 117 wheat cents in it! lol that's 367 wheats in two days. Check out my post and watch the videos :) if I didn't experience it first hand I wouldn't believe it.

I just finished my 7th box. It yielded about 415 coppers which went into rolls after being checked for errors and varieties. Ten of these were Wheats of the following dates:

1941, 1941-D, 1944-D, 1947-D, 1951, 1951-D, 1952-D (x2), 1953-D, 1955

All were in VF to XF, which was nice, but no new hole fillers so all went into a tube for common Wheats.

Three Canadians were found: 1981, 1991, 1996

One 1988-D Zincoln was found with a North Dakota Counter-Stamp. That makes my 3rd counter-stamped cent found while CRH.

Also found about half a dozen LMR's in AU Red condition from the early, mid, and late 1960's - all of which were used to upgrade lesser grade examples in my Lincoln Cent Whitman album.

I saved the best for last: A 1972-D DDO in AU condition.

Time for another box!

Looks like a decent mix in your box CH. Congrats on your DDO!

Kritler - Nice to find a pair of IHCs! Anything else interesting in that box?

I gave up on cents 3 months ago.

I used to do 12 boxes of halves, 2 boxes of nickels, and 2 boxes of cents a week.

Due to time constraints and roll hunting funds turnaround the cent boxes got last priority. At one point I had 12 boxes of cents piling up. Combine that with how hard it is to find someone to by your copper and the overnight fallout in copper prices I had to stop getting cent boxes.

I still have 4 boxes from that time 3 months ago sitting here still sealed.

I wish I could find someone in AZ to unload copper on!

The box with 2 IHC had 13 Wheaties, nothing special in those.

Jack Jeckel - I am going through the same thing with cents. I still have a buyer, but am down to 20% over face on copper sales. Gonna focus more on other denominations.

IMO copper probably won't have much upside potential, as compared to gold/silver, lots of copper is still being found and I'd expect prices to stay under control for a while. I mostly use pennies as the opener for the better demoninations. I did do dimes first today, and got skunked. However, I had an above average day with the three boxes of pennies I searched. The first box had 12 wheaties and were all commons, but the real highlight was finding seven dimes total since its always cool to find them here (though I've occasionally been gipped with a quarter in a half dollar roll). It also contained a 2009-P. The other two boxes had 42 more Wheats (including a 1918, 1929, 1930, 2 1934's, 2 1936's, a couple of later day S-mints), my first 2015-P, a number of rolls with around 75% of the coins 95% copper (too bad the premiums are so low), and about 50 or so slider BU coins from the 1960s, in particular 1963, 1963-D, 1964, and 1967.

I just like pennies because I am always "successful" and the money commitment is low at $25 a box. I keep all pre-82's, wheats, Canadians, and 2009's. I could see the coppers being worth 3-5 cents one day like the wheats however I understand production is much higher. I've noticed in my everyday transactions I only get a copper penny back about 10% of the time so they are getting harder to find. Worst case I'm not losing any money because they will always be worth the face value. When I dump the coins back I get the no fee Amazon gift card from coin star so aside from my time it's a free and fun hobby! I've tried dimes, quarters, and halves and just don't think it's worth getting a whole box to maybe get 1 or 2 coins I want to keep. I usually just purchase AU/BU silvers if I want them.
