Hello all on this Easter morning. Decided to search through five rolls before lunch, and here's what I found:
1944 Wheat
1965 Canadian
2 or 3 Presidency Lincolns
First 2015 pennies! (two of them)
...And a dime.

Started when I was 5-6, now I'm nearing 16 1/2.. :) Probably the most involved, knowledgable, and youngest numismatist in the country...but hey, not trying to brag  |

Made it through a box today. Nothing too impressive but I did find my first 1943-P steel cent.
Roughly
10 CNDs including a 51
8 wheats (as always 40s P and 50s D)
15 or so 2009s
My luck hasn't been great lately but it was cool to get a steel cent CRH. They are pretty common but I never find them in rolls. Wheats are becoming hard to come by around here.

Certainly  Oh and, might as well contribute to some recent finds I had. My grandfather picked up two rolls of cents for me at the bank, and I saw him on Saturday. He said he picked them up about a month ago... It was kind of a disappointment to hear that, because once you hear what I found in those rolls, you'll be quite surprised. Okay, let's get to the chase... Both of the rolls were 60's wrappers, and had Cleveland Trust stamped on them. Cleveland Trust closed in the late 60's-70's. I find the wrappers every so often and usually keep them, because I like the older wrappers too. I opened up the first roll, it had 17 wheat cents and 33 coppers from 59-66. Amazing... Oldest wheat was 1940. Second roll, same wrapper, opened up had 20 wheats with the oldest being a 1937. Also found a nice XF-45 1949 which wil replace the one in my book, I think. Has a bit of luster too. The other 30 were 1959-66 again. Not a bad bunch, he also gave me two quarter rolls and all his chance that he saved me, but I was skunked. The quarters were CWR, and I ended up finding an extra quarter in there..  |

BadThad, do the Woodies sell for a premium? I have a bunch of Copper that I'm going to go through before I sell it and will pull them if they do. I'm thinking about completing another Album for my Daughter if I can.  A complete Album of Woody Cents would be really cool I think. |

Not sure if you guys already mentioned this because I didn't read back, but people on the east coast find significantly more WAMs than people on the west.

Maybe I am too old...to me a "Woodie" is a 1940's era station wagon with plywood panels on the outside! so what is a "woodie" as it applies to LMC's?s enlighten me please. |

It refers to a wood grain appearance on the coin due to the planchet being irregarly rolled or irregularly blended copper.

A complete Album of Woody Cents would be really cool I think. That depends on the coin and the buyer. A complete album of woodies would be impossible to complete since they don't show up in every year/issue. |

Not from a roll because I don't CRH cents, but I received a 1957D wheat in change yesterday... I hadn't seen a Wheat cent in change for a long time, so it was kind of fun to see it. Happy hunting all! |
