im wondering if I should try to get one graded? What are the chances any of these are high on the MS scale? Maybe I should take to a local coin shop for an appraisal?

Wouldn't be worth it to grade a 55 unless it's the DDO. Even for a MS66 red it's worth $20 book value and I doubt something from circulation would grade that high. Grading fees would kill any potential profit.

If you have a few you really like buy some airtites to put them in for safe storage. Great find though!!

Skibs - it got a few of us excited! I enjoy posts of good fortune. Gives folks hope that their turn might be a box away. I had two a year ago so I've been spoiled. It's nice to see that the good juju gets around.

I finished my boxes last night. I don't have time to do a full tally, but here are some highlights.

This one doesn't look like much, but it's nearly PL in hand. It really jumped out at me. My first thought was that it was an SMS coin, but the rims aren't defined enough.

I went through my first box of pennies today. Pulled out-up 13 wheat cents (1936-1957), 4 2016p, a 1952 Canadian and about a roll of high grade 60s and 70s. I would call it a success. :)

Numisma - nice pair there!

Mayflower - welcome to the mix here! It does look like you had yourself a good box. I had to check to see if I had found a 1952 Canadian. It's been a while since I've found one CRH.

Check that 1985 Canadian for the pointed 5 variety.

Good idea- I usually check my Canadian finds for whatever varieties are listed in Charlton, but I must have forgotten this time. No luck on the pointed five. I looked through my other Canadian finds (nearly a roll) and found one other 85, but no luck there either.

Too bad. I'm still looking for the pointed 5 too. But I do have a few of the Canadian varieties plucked out during a CRH event. So it can happen.

I've been combing through $40 of CWRs and about halfway through. I have a number of varieties and a few Canadian cents to check. A nice mix of older Zincolns in high grades. I love it when the odds of finding a variety improves!!
