Nice error Eaglefoot!

My son coaxed me into a box of pennies on Friday (I think we've done 4 or 5 boxes before).

The box was not producing too well, (only 2 wheats halfway through). Then to our amazement, this beauty of a 1905 IHC was in his roll:

Officially, the oldest coin we've found. The rest of the box was minimal finds:

4 wheats total
45
51
53D
54D

1 IHC (1905)

8 Canadians
78, 80, 82, 95 (2), 2003, 2005 (2)

19 2009 Lincoln Bicentennials

Seeing the statistics skibdib referenced for his searching, we feel pretty lucky!

Awesome ! --

That IHC alone would have made it a great box !

Go back a previous page here and look at the finds on my last box....it's my best in years for sheer number of Wheats...and I even found SILVER ! --

34-D. Nice! Mintmarked coins are hard to find from the 30s.

I am two fifths of the way through a box and have already come across three wheatie enders! So far, only one roll without a wheatie. A few Canadians mixed in as well (which I LOVE!). Makes it really difficult to call it a night and head off to bed.

Skiddib, that's a nice find... Mintmarked pre-40 wheats don't show up often. I have found exactly one in 3 1/2 months - a 1919-D.

CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Here is the rest of my American roll hunting I mentioned on the nickel thread counterpart: 6 rolls of cents and one roll of halves. I'll just mention here that there wasn't anything special in the halves (except I saved three, being my first US halves).

As for the cents:

90 pre-1982 LMC Copper - 30% (Will save for now, but I am undecided if I really want to keep)
2 wheats - 0.7%: 1957D and 1941, both in rough shape but keepers nonetheless
1 Canadian - 0.3%: 1978, an upgrade

Here are a couple pictures because pictures are good:

If all goes well, I will be getting a few rolls of quarters next week...

I plan to do a lot more CRHing this summer. I started today with $25 in pennies and $75 in dimes. I found nothing in the dimes and I found 5 wheats and one Canadian Cent in the pennies...

Wheat cent dates...
