I got 10 rolls of CWR at one of my banks yesterday... I noticed right away they were heavy... I weighed them and all but two weighed in excess of 139 grams... one was 155 grams... First roll is almost all copper coins but no wheats... so I figured they had been searched through... well, the third roll produced this little batch of coins... 4 more rolls had between 7 and 11 wheat cents in them... final tally was 38 wheat cents (nothing before 1941) along with the pictured 1891 Indian and 1947 Canadian...

And yes, I went back... got 20 more rolls from there today, but only like five of them are similarly wrapped. None were heavy like those others... oh well. I'm happy!

Thanks guys, but how do you know how much something is when ebay, the Red Book 2017 and coin dealers all have different prices on the very same coin and some pretty far apart.

Best to take an average of the coin dealers and the Red Book... If you can get your hands on a copy of the Coin Dealer Newsletter, that would be ideal... some price guides are way off... I've actually pondered producing my own price guide because of the discrepancies, and the lack of listed values for lower grade coins.

You can't always rely on ebay prices as items which aren't currently in heavy demand can sell for a good amount less than they're actually worth. I've seen coins worth $10 go for $5 one week, and then a week later go for $12.

Thanks, numisma... I've had some crazygood luck so far this year... the Indian was actually kind of buried... at first I thought there was only the Georgie VI...

That is pretty incredible for a roll to have all three of those. Today my $10 turned up only one common wheat, but it did have BU 74 s, 73 s, 68, and 61 d pennies to make up for it.

nice IHC find!

I found 29 wheats in a box tonight, including a hole filling 20d. Only 29 to go to a full set, lol.

Also, do you save the copper LMC or throw them back?

not right now I'm not. I have close to 100 dollars in copper cents and I feel that is enough.

My crazygood week continues.... got $5 of CWR from a local bank... 3 of the rolls were "special." The first roll had 19 wheats including 3 1909, and a 1933. The second roll produced 19 more wheats including a 1893 Indian, a 1909, 1921-S, 1932-D, and a 1975-S proof. The third roll included 16 wheats... the other 7 rolls included 2 more wheats... 56 wheats in total including 23 pre-1940 dated coins...
