Cool Lincoln Roll Finds (From Bank Rolls) - Post Yours!

Thousands of cents huh? I was hoping I could say I have a coin that's worth its weight in gold. ($97.25 using spot prices checked last night.)

Nice finds all, I do a few rolls at a time so last week picked up 2 rolls yes rolls found a 1941 in one roll and a 1951 in the other roll, both in fine condition so I thought that was very good. I used to search a lot of cents a box at a time but have cut way back due to various issues.

Worth more than gold I think. Took a quick look on ebay and there's a specimen (unslabbed) in a lower grade than yours; asking $175, brown. I'm not sure what folks are getting for these unslabbed, but it's worth investigating if you haven't already. Good luck!

Reporting in on my last two batches of ten rolls.

Yesterday: 1944D, 1952D

Today: 1926, 1951D, 1956 that was dragged along the ground. Plus this guy: not a BIE, but a IIB (1995).

This week I picked up $25 of pennies from a larger branch of my bank. (My local smaller branch always seems hesitant about selling me a box.) These were all CWR with several different wrappers. The results were about the same as the Loomis MWR. Except five of the rolls were short 1 cent each, all of them with the same type wrapper. The population ran as follows, 616 copper LMC including 2 1969-S and a 1970-S. 18 Canadian cents, the oldest was a 1964, 11 wheat backs, the oldest 3 were a 1929,1936, and a 1939, and 7 of the 2009 Lincoln cents. About the 2009 cents, out of 191 that I've pulled from circulation over time only 6 have D mint marks! This makes me very watchful for the 2017-P cents that are being released. Also we seem to get more Canadian cents, I live in upstate New York. And I have a new camera, I just have to figure out how to get the pictures into the laptop.

Did my standard cluster of ten rolls. This group gave up two 1946s and a 1916 -- my first coin over a hundred years old.



I also found this super rare bicentennial coin! Okay, actually a medal since it's in medal orientation and there's no denomination. It's about 1 mm larger in diameter than a cent, and there's a typo on the reverse. I guess it looked good on the die? An oddity, but worth a cent.
