found 3 more 1998 Wide AM's in that batch I was going through for a friend. I found around a box of 1999 cents in bu condition. are the 99's worth selling or dumping? |

Picked up a box of cents today - 1st roll - 2nd coin - 1953 Canadian. My oldest Canadian yet.
1/2 of the roll was copper - so already more than the last box. LOL. I did 4 more rolls - and will do the rest tonight.

Afcop13, is your '53 a Shoulder Fold or No Shoulder Fold variety? SF has a straight-sided I in DEI that points at a denticle; NSF has a flared I that points between two denticles.

Andrew - looks like the more common version. The coin is pretty worn on the front, but it points between two denticles.
Did find 7 total Canadians in that box - by far my highest total yet, 53, 69, 69, 72, 83, 94 and 2006.
Also found - 6 wheats - all commons. Copper % was just under 20%. Three 1968-1970 S mints. No others except one of the wheats.

The neat thing about the more common NSF '53 is that it's the first Canadian Elizabeth cent. How about the 2006? Is it plain, or does it have a P or a Royal Canadian Mint logo under the portrait? |

Plain - no mintmark or logo. It is a different portrait, older woman with a pearl necklace.
You are my official source of knowledge for Canadian cents. LOL.
