Here's a 1982-D I pulled from my 'weird' box a couple of weeks ago. The box was mostly 1976-D and a lot had bag impressions like this one. This one is the nicest and has a section of purple.

Hey guys - I am just a kid starting to collect pennies and fill up a Dansco penny album. I am searching through roles of pennies, but on a kids salary (very low haha), still a bit hard. My nicest finds so far are a few wheats in nice condition as well as a couple of 60's and 70's in nice condition. I am working on collecting wheat pennies too, but it is very hard to find them in rolls. So far I have 1936, 1941 (non steel) and 1944. Not that great atm, but I am trying. It great too see everything you guys find all the time - I'm never that lucky.

the good thing with cents is, you can always ask for a box for xmas, birthday etc. at $25 a box, it's not going to break a lot of budgets.

Don't be in a hurry, you're young and you have plenty of time to fill that Dansco.

This site has made me look at every bit of change I get..It's been fun and I'm just starting out. So I stopped on the way to work the other day, since it was going to be a slow day and got just a few rolls of pennies to search. Found all these in one roll and a few wheats. Cant really get the picture to show the color of the one penny...but it is very pretty..almost purple.

I think I'm gonna be hooked on starting a collection...now to just learn what to look for. Been reading a lot but it is a lot to remember.

Wanted to give an update on the 4 boxes I got on Friday. If you remember, I got them from the vault manager's backup. As I suspected, three of them were someone else's roll searching rejects. No wheats, a few BU zincs, the normal amount of copper (25% or so). Although I did find this beautiful 1994 trail die - 1DER-023T (I posted this under another topic in the error section).

The 4th box was the jackpot. It was probably rolled around 1993 since that was the newest coin in the box. I pulled about 150 BU from between 1973 and 1982 (copper). I also found about 50 BU zincs from 1982 to 1992, with nary a black spot on them. This box was about 80% copper.

So I called the vault manager today and she told me she still had the other 4 boxes set aside for me.

I plan on posting some pix of the best ones sometime this week.

Matt

Man, talk about frustrated. I forgot to pickup boxes for the weekend and have had no......NOOOOOOO rolls to search. I usually keep a box in the closet for emergencies and used it during the week. I can not wait for Monday to get here.

Just found this one a few minutes ago..oldest find for me in my VERY short career of looking. This could get addictive!

What do you mean COULD get addictive? LOL.

Nice 1915.

My box yesterday was another one of those golden boxes - meaning when I opened it I could see all the golden zinc coins glowing out at me. 50 rolls, 42 coppers, zero Wheats, three Canadians (82, 95, 02).

Oh well, another two boxes later this week.

I did get my 2nd 2000 Wide AM though.
