Everybody stops at the date. On the real big
DDO, the date is the least affected, the other obverse devices show a huge amount of hub doubling:
Machine Doubling was very common on the 1968-1972 cents. Even the
DDO's had
Machine Doubling on most of them:

Note all 4 of these are doubled die, but all 4 have
Machine Doubling. But note the yellow arrows? Note that
Machine Doubling all these examples, differently, but all from the same direction.
Machine Doubling is caused by the machine. But a doubled die has the doubling on the die. Thus the term doubled die, and it can affect doubled dies as well. Because they are two different processes. Die design and a striking issue causing the
Machine Doubling.
