The Royal Mint - Alongside coins struck at The Royal Mint in Tower Hill, between 1855 and 1932, Sovereigns were also struck at branch mints close to where the gold was mined. Distinguished by a series of mint marks that indicate their place of origin, these coins make up a fascinating chapter in The Sovereign's history, and their story starts on the other side of the world.

Hear from Nicky Harris and Chris Barker on the history of The Royal Mint's branch mints.

What a pity that all those "what we can see on the screen now" references don't appear.
