Now, to me it seems this guy is just fishing for suckers, really, really dumb ones at that, but I've been wrong before so I gotta ask around if I'm missing something here: http://cgi.ebay.com/1989-PCGS-MS-66...LE_W0QQitemZ140271522555QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Anyone see anything at all justifying the price on this baby?

no I dont think your missing anything. the high price is for the rainbow toning. I cant wait to spend that much money on a common coin just because of rainbow toning.

This guy does do his own toning their is no way this coin could have toned like that in the amount of time that coin was around. Has anyone seen a 100 year old coin that has this kind of toning ? I think not. For that kind of money I can get a great early cent.

It seems like the ASE tone like that rather quickly if people wrap them in napkins and things like that and I guess TPG don't care for now at least.

It's obviously not worth that amount of money to an intelligent collector. He is, however, able to ask as much as he wants for it and if someone else wants to pay that amount then he will sell it. Personally I think the guy should seek employment from one of those television coin shows. He seems to have a lot of the qualifications needed to rip...er, I mean, sell coins to unsuspect...I mean, collectors looking for the very best.
