tropicalbats Pillar of the Community United States 6108 Posts	Posted 12/01/2020 8:01 pm These can be really tough to find, mostly due to the softness of the secondary mint mark. But it's a far south variety and nice when you can find one. This one gave me pause, though. The seller was asking fifty bucks for a low-end AU 1924-S and the coin has been cleaned. He had some very, very long drivel on his ebay listing about how all coins are cleaned and this and that, so I knew he was not going to make a deal on a cleaned coin since apparently that's what he sells, and probably is the one cleaning them. In the end I decided to pick it up as there aren't many of these out there and certainly not in this grade, cleaned or otherwise. 1924-S/S Lincoln Wheat cent RPM-001 Report this Post to the Staff

Sometimes I wonder if sellers put info like that even if they aren't cleaned, to minimize returns. ie: "You can't return it because I told you it was cleaned." (I've heard of attorneys refering to this technique as a chilling document. It has no legal standing but might make people be aware of a potential issue and therefore not raise a stink. It is pre-emptive.) Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow. Report this Post to the Staff
