Hi all,

Am curious as to why the Proof for both the 1907 and 1908 1/12 Anna is listed twice. There seems to be description why this is so.

It looks like the Calcutta mint made a proof and later made a proof or proof like restrike.

Yes there were original proofs and then later restrikes which look different and have slightly different rims from memories, and I think 1907 or 1908 was when British Indian lower-denomination coins changed from copper to bronze so that might be it too.
