Hello to everyone, someone is trying to sell to me 1$ coins from the years 1804,1906,1921,1872,1878

I went to a collector here in Israel and he told me they are fake, but then ask me how much I want for it which left me a bit confused, are they fake or real, now since I have no experience in coins what so ever I would be happy if one of you good people will help me figure out.

If someone will send me his email I will send images so he can help me

Thank you in advance.

Normally if someone calls something a fake and they Still want to buy it from you they are trying to scam you

You can try to post the pictures on here if you'd like. I'll shot you an e-mail just in case so I can post them for you.

without pictures it would be impossible to know if they are fake or not. The chance is pretty good that some may be fake because some of the coins are rather expensive (according to grade also) and others aren't all that expensive but we would really need atleast a decent picture of the Obverse and Reverse to be able to determine if there is any chance they are real

I know people who collect counterfeits.

The 1804 and 1906 are definitely fake. (There are real 1804 dollars but they are so rare you are MUCH more likely to win the lottery twice in a row than find an unknown piece. There were no silver dollars struck in 1906 so it has to be fake.) With two of the five pieces definitely being fake the chances of the other three also being fake rises GREATLY. As for why someone would say they are fake but still want to buy them, turtleoverhead is correct, there are people who collect counterfeits. I have a fascination for counterfeits myself, but most of these fakes (1804 and 1906 dollars) are so common and crude they aren't really worth much at all. They are crude counterfeits that have been coming out of China for years.

Nice call Conder101. Those dates (1804 & 1906) didn't jump out at me when I first read it, but should have!
