Pretty sure I have a DDO here. Possibly the 1971-D DDO-006 or 007. The lack of luster caught my eye as well. It is very dull compared to all the other halves that I have gone through. Is the lack of luster an environmental issue or something from the mint and the planchet?

Luster wears off with time, I'm guessing you got this CRHing, if you did, the feeding machine and minor wear could have removed it.

Yes, the lack of luster is due the circulation wear or the environment.

Let's see a close-up pic of "WE TRUST".

The coin appears to have very little circulation damage for its age. It is almost a gun metal grey. There are also very uniform streaks/striations running almost horizontally across the coin. Here are the other photos.

Good pictures of "WE TRUST" I don't see any doubling there.

I'm not a 100% sure those are doubling notches you're seeing in those above pictures.

Others will chime in.

IMHO, it does have some notching but not like the doubling on 007.

The notching on the right side of the I (IN) looks like 006 might be a match.

To these tired eyes, the top of the bottom serif on the S (TRUST) on your coin seems to have notching as well as some other devices.

Congrats if it is determined that it is DDO-006 (FS102).
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I'm not saying yours isn't but when it comes to doubling, this is what I look for...

I don't think your half dollar would be the 71D DDO-006. Attached are a couple of photos of the DDO-006 in my collection, note the doubling on the hair under the B in LIBERTY, the doubling on IN GOD, the first 1 of date, and the mintmark position. I think you just have some minor doubling on your half.
