1967 Dime Appears Silver?

I found a 1967 dime at work tonite that seems silver. Solid silver edge, even sounds silver. It's pretty beat up but still curious.

So somebody probably plated it with silver? Dropping it sure sounds like silver.

Or painted. It looks like acid was used on the copper core and then painted over. That is what I'm seeing.

Upon closer examination it does look like paint, and a poor job at that! Coop strikes again!

Thanks coop I can defiantly see that on the rim of this dime. It looked funny but it was the drop test that threw me of cause it sounds all tingy like silver.
