I was talking with one of my buddies today about coins and how that the only time they're mentioned is when a big sale happens. That lead to the conversation of examples that exist outside of that norm.

This was the only recent example I could think of, I saw this show like a year ago, and it totally sucked, but that aside they made a few numismatic references. There's a callback to this coin later on where he gives it to a kid and talks to him about varieties, but I really didn't want to have to sift through this show to try to find it, but hey, at least it's there.

I saw this in an episode of a YouTube animated show that I really enjoy called BigTop Burger, made me think of this thread so I figured I'd share.

The character on the right, Steve, calls it a "tuppence" and flips it to the customer.

It's a British two pence coin with the pre-2008 reverse.

Outside of the collecting community, the only thing that comes to mind is Pawn Stars. There were several episodes.

Forum member Willieboyd2 is compiling coins spotted in movies. Do a forum search for "Coins in movies" and you'll find his threads. For example, some German thalers are found in the 1949 Gregory Peck movie "The Great Sinner", as seen in this thread.
