I found this beautiful 1872-H penny on ebay. It was described honestly. I have an 1872-H in certified MS65 red, but will sell it in the spring, and thought this would be a fun replacement. I especially thought it was nice to find that the 8 in the date was repunched three times, Check my closeup photos.

As a novice grader, I have a question.
Might some TPG consider the X behind the neck damage or graffiti, putting it into the details or ungradable category?

Hi Bond. The marks you see on both sides of the neck are "clash" marks from the reverse die. In this case it is an upside down representation of the crown. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for sharing your fantastic find yontan, always fancied older copper myself, especially if it can accomplish the amazing feat of surviving150 years unscathed.
