@Kushanshah
Hi there! I came across this topic and your comments made me believe you can help with the coin, which supposedly belongs to the Golden Horde era. It was recently found in Ukraine together with three fragments of silver dirhams. However, the coin could be a local imitation with the fake legend. Would you please take a look?

I'm very sorry for the poor quality of the photo - this is all I got from the seller so far.

@jbuck Thanks! I was hoping @Kushanshah could help me with my coin so I posted my request as a reply. I'm not allowed to email here which is quite frustrating for me. How can I contact anyone?

I think you are probably right, a local imitation. Anything more precise will be difficult. You may wish to browse through this section of the Zeno database: https://www.zeno.ru/showgallery.php?cat=14279

@Kushanshah Thanks a lot! This database looks familiar to me. Let me take a closer look. To date, I found no exact match. Bearing in mind that plenty of local imitations - mostly of Jani Beg Khan silver coins - are known in Ukraine, I assumed the legend was fake. But I don't read Arabic. When you say I'm probably right, do you mean there are no actual words or even letters on the coin?

I can't make any sense of the inscriptions but given the style, fabric and location, a local imitation of a coin of the Golden Horde is as good a guess as any.
