Although there are omitted print steps known, the red serials / dates can also be chemically removed. I would need better pictures of the surfaces in the area of the serial / dates, as well as some shots backlit and under UV to know for sure. This being said, your note looks processed, so the chances are not good IMO.

I'm not an expert on paper notes but do have experience with art, paper restoration etc.
This note does not appear to me to be altered but it could be. It was acquired in an estate auction in a lot of notes and coins which contained nothing after 1972.

BTW...You people are awesome! Thanks for the help. I may buy a UV light. I wonder if any of my jewelry stone ID lights might cast some insight here.

These no serial# notes need certification for it to be valuable, it"s worth the fee at BCS or CCCS grading

@Anna14459 Looks more promising with the close ups, but will absolutely need UV verification - my main issue is that the front has disproportionately faded versus the back - this could be because it spent a lot of time in a dealer's window / case though... just a red flag.
