I have a coin that I think is Indian in origin and from around 1939-45 period. It is 16mm in diameter and is made of nickel/bronze(?). I cannot see any date stamp on it and unlike other coins I have come across in my search it has no English writing on it (India was part of the British empire at that time). It is too small of a Pice and the Half-Pice does not seem to have a hole in it as this one does. I haven't been able to find anything that looks anything like this on any searches I have made.
The pictures show the two sides of the coin.

Can anyone help in identifying this coin? Thanking you in anticipation.

Looks like a 2 Pai from Hyderabad. There should be a date but I can't make it out.

Nice job Bacchus. 1944 or 1943, I'm not sure of the last digit.

Oh wow! That's brilliant. I would never have got to that in all my searching. So appreciated.
Have found this image via Google Images. It is exactly the same as my coin. Yes, it is what you say it is, and again there appears to be no date on it, at least not in wester numerics.
Thank you again.

Didn't see your post, Gincoin43, before I sent mine. I see you found the same site as me!
