So I saw this video that said some of these coins that look like they been scraped on concrete could have actually acquired that look during the minting process and I thought this one seemed idk..... Different? So I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask and either way I get to learn something #9786; also the front of the coin is not damaged.

It certainly different but when you are looking for error/varieties you are looking for something that happened during the minting process. Here is a neat video, gonna be honest I didn't listen to the guy, but It shows and probably explains the whole minting process.

Your coin looks like it was face down and rubbed against a rough surface.

Don't believe everything you watch on YouTube, read the pages here in CCF instead!

This, as others have stated, is what we call a "parking lot coin" as it looks as if it spent time in e gravel being walked on repeatedly until you or someone rescued it. Certainly NOT mint damage! Highest and best use now: throw it in a fountain somewhere and make a wish!

Some people are visual learners. I didn't realize he continues to call the planchet a blank after the upset mill.

If that is the case, then go to one of coops posts and click on one of the links in his signature. Those are YouTube and made by coop, so you know they can be trusted.

Yes, this site--based much on ~20 year old blogging/message board technology/design--is certainly not the easiest to navigate. Back to the original post, the coin pictured is not a mint error.
