Is is just me or is it a bit sus that a coin is for sale worth $250,000 from an account that has not had many sales at all?
Rest in Peace

Yup. That coin shouldn't be on ebay anyway.

Interesting... Dempsey and Baxter owns the coin. The pictures and description are from D & B's website...

My father has a couple of mules that pulls his covered wagon in parades or wagon trains but he didn't pay near that much for the both of them!

Of course the "pre-approved" buyer is going to end up feeling like the father of a mule when his purchase arrives.

I just got off the phone with Baxter & Dempsey. I gave them the auction number and the seller's ID. They found this very interesting. Wonder what will happen now?

I have also reported it to ebay, emailed the seller, and started a discussion about it on the Coin Forgery ebay group.

Actually, Dempsey and Baxter no longer own the coin. They sold it recently. I have emailed the seller asking when they purchased it from them.

I heard back from the seller and he states that he purchased this coin from Jack Dempsey around 3 years ago, so I guess this auction is legitimate.

As part of my question email to him, I asked if he'd ever heard of Dempsey & Baxter. He never addressed that in his reply.

A very interesting and valuable mule.

But, I'm not paying the "US $10.00 -- Standard Flat Rate Shipping Service". LOL

Well, the auction ended without any bids. The sad thing is that I think this person may actually have the coin, just not the experience or knowledge to sell it.
Rest in Peace

Late getting onto this thread, but it appears ebay pulled the auction. Did anyone get a screen shot?
