While I did get into Star Trek I have much more love for Star Wars!!! Now if I could just get my hands on some interplanetary coins I would be one up on all of you! May the force be with you!

Well, it looks as if you kids have moved on and upward to bigger and better things. You should have been around when I was wearing the code ring of Buck Rogers. Man, he had a flight instrument that he could fly around solo. But he always had his spece ship just in case. Those were the days

So Old Dan, your hero was named after a dollar bill (BUCK)? It is no wonder you turned into a coin collector! I must admit I get a kick out of seeing some of the old "space" movies and the half a dozen oil gauges they used, with a little conduit, for the interior of their futuristic spaceships! Things were so much simplier then and we had to use our imagination!

I remember as a fourth grader in the 1950s, I received a "space travel" book as a gift. In the book was the prediction that men would be on Mars by the late 1980's, or early 1990's.
Could have happened if the Government had funded the space program much better. I feel somewhat cheated that I won't be around (on Earth at least) to see men (and women) on Mars.

We will have to have a private chat someday on why the U.S. is so interested in a dead planet like Mars! More than meets the eye!

Had to go and find this old thread and revive it for just one more 'thank you' to both Terry and Mike. I am now in possession of a number of dark side coins provided by these two gentlemen. Ture Knights in every sense of the word. The post man arrived today and this is what I found: A beautiful hunk of lumber big enough to privide heat for the rest of the winter. The wife ask why I have placed the log up on the mantel of the fireplace. Got to find some preservative to apply to keep as a momento that I have officially become a Knight of the coin table. Very nice work Terry! Then that wasn't enought so Terry aso sent a bi-metal Finland 2$ euro with a dove embosed. http://www.bundesbank.de/bargeld/im..._160x110.gifThe second coin was a mounted knight on a 1991 Lithuanian 2 centai coin. http://www.(131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed /countries/img2/110-86.jpg This was the second knight on horse coin as Mike was so kind as to also provide one in the set of dark side coins he passed on to me eaarlier this month. Mike also sent a golden 5$ Austrailian 2000 Olympic coin and pin set of the Baseball player. The word is 'wow'. To both these find Knights and all the rest of the Coin Table crew, Thanks from the bottom of my heart. If you were all closer, we would light up the old BBQ and have a Buffalo burger and a bubbly of your choice. Thanks again, I'll try and live up the high standard already set by these two members of the best forum this side of the moon! On an one last thing: Terry old Buck was my hero when I was growing up, but not the one you are thinking about. Mine was Buck Jones. Don't suppose you have heard of him though, not many people have these days.

Those are some fine looking coins OldDan. I'll bet they're some Darkside coins with castles on them too, the perfect compliment to Knights. I think I know what Buck Jones your referring too. He started out in silent movies and survived the talkies. Do you remember who this guy was: Rodolpho Alfonzo Raffaeli Pierre Filibert di Valentina d'Antonguolla? Hehehehehe.

You got to be talking about "the Sheik", man did the ladies ever make a fuss over this guy. Kind of reminds me of an early days 'Elvis', only he didn't wiggle like the king.

Yup. I guess he had to shorten his name for Hollywood or anyone else who wanted to pronounce it without needing a hit of oxygen. If what I've been reading about the 20's is accurate, Valentino made "the king" look like squire-boy.
