1949 S Lincoln Wheat Cent Doubled Die - DDO-001, FS-101 Stage C

This variety is probably still rather a bit controversial as to exactly how the coin got to look like that, but I think it's a cool variety however it came to be. For now, though it is classified as a Class III date style/different date style.

I just pulled this one out of a roll of UNC coins, and it has fairly odd toning and what look like roller lines running across it.

I bought one of these in the mid 80's for $3! I would like to take credit as a cherrypick but I can't since I bought it as a BU coin.

Is the controversy because of the two styles of 4, one with a blunt top and the other a pointed top?
