Kinda just looks like a die chip - how big does it have to be before it's classified as a die break?

It becomes a Die Break if it is more than 4 square millimetres, which
really isn't that big.

5/32 square in inches - no, it isn't very big.

The letter R in the last picture only measures 1/16 inch tall (just using a small ruler) on an actual quarter. And the chip seems smaller than the letter so I guess it's just a chip then?

That is good information to know, thank you. I'm new at this so there is much I have to learn. Is it something that I should get graded? I've only found two like it and one person is trying to sell it for #1500 and the other for $122 and it may be worthless, I have no idea.

Oh Heavens no. 2 things why not to: A common clad quarter that is highly circulated, and that small chip does not give your coin a premium over face value.

So then you are saying it's worth 25 cents? Or is there a possibility there might be someone out there that would buy a thing like this for a few bucks? Thanks again for all of your help by the way, I'm glad I found this coin community

Ok, thank you. Still learning what the heck I'm doing and trying to figure why I'm doing it. Mostly for fun and curiosity but a little bit for money I suppose.
