Found this 2002 Ohio State Quarter with a blank circle the size of a dime on the back (is that reverse side?) and was wondering what could have caused this and are there others like it?

Please help me understand how to upload photos of coin. When I click on Upload Image, I just come back to the same screen with no place to upload my image. I did use the Free Image Optimizer and can see my image there and did get the green arrow and was able to save it but how do I get it to my post?

pipilo, you did it! Posting photos isn't the easiest thing to figure out, but once you get it under your belt, it should now flow.

Your quarter has been intentionally damaged by someone, it looks like by a fine sandpaper or some other means. There in nothing in the minting process that would produce such a mistake, so this is pure and simply PMD. Since this is damage, there is no premium, but at least it is still worth face value. Sorry it isn't better news.

Thank you merclover for your support and expert knowledge. Sandpaper would explain why it is so slick. Guess I'll just spend it and check my change for other oddities. Happy Holidays to everyone!
