Not too much to go on here, but I can read (I think ) EINEN SILB GROSCHEN, so some pfennig denomination (depending on size). Here is a Numista link to a 3 pfennig: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces37006.html

@mm84, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks to me like at least the first image needs to be rotated by 90 degrees. I vaguely see what @era is describing, although to me the GROSCHEN part is most clear. I do see that the central part of the design is a crown on top of a Venetian Shield AKA "Two engrailed top escutcheon". As you likely know, the German States of the 17th through 19th Centuries can be a bit of a rabbit hole, but perhaps you can match the overall shape of this shield to specific states and then down-select for ones that used Groschen, especially if they are close to your dig site. I note that Oldenburg-Birkenfeld, Birkenfeld, and Nassau all seem to have similar shapes, but I'm sure there must be many more.

Also, having more info would be helpful. With the coin in hand, can you make any sense of what is on the other side? Imperial Eagle? Any inscription? Thx.

i think a circular motif is visible inside the shield, which makes @erafjel's option look pretty good (and I think I can also see at least the INEN in EINEN, with SILB and GROSCHEN being more evident).

Indeed it would be good to know if any details on the other side are readable. Certainly there is a legend around the perimeter with letters discernible (though not necessarily readable) between 12:00 and 3:00.
