Hello.
So I am learning little by little, day by day, different errors to look for, now I have the question of whether I'm looking for these errors just for fun or can money actually be made off of some of these coins? A friend of mine got me into this and has had me looking through pocket change, I've gotten some coins from Littleton coins because they mailed them and I figured for $20 why not. I accidentally bought a gold "clad" bar (didn't know what clad actually meant at the time), and a little collection from a guy on offerup. My brother even called me and told me that he was getting new rolls of 2020 W Wier Farms Quarters and selling them for $10. So I know that shiney coins can make money but what about all this pocket change?

It's a bit like gold prospecting.
The rarer something is, the harder it is to find, and the more effort that will be required to find it.

The most successful have the most experience, the most knowledge and the most skill to be able to find the widest range of errors in their pocket change.

You don't just look for a few different errors, you look for all of them, and perhaps cull your finds later on.
That takes experience, knowledge and skill.

Ain't we all. It's nice in theory, but very difficult in practice. The search continues...

My prime motivation for collecting is the fun of it--the variety, the boo boos, the art of engraving, the science of minting, the 'look' when everything comes together, etc. While it's cool to make some $$ via numismatics, my odds of raking in money sufficient to buy flat screens, cars, and invest in real estate are better when playing a state lottery.

Keep searching. Enjoy the ride, but keep it real.

Lol, I've been watching too many youtube videos. My question is always the same on all of those which is, who in the heck is everybody selling all of these coins to? Anyway maybe someday, I score and can afford to go buy a nice dinner at taco bell.
