Hello community,

First post and hoping you experts can help. I found these coins while cleaning up a family residence in Madrid, Spain. A quick internet search revealed that these coins were accidentally mislabeled.

Attached are some photographs for easier recognition.

1988 - Two Pence Coin
1975 - New Pence Coin
1971 - New Pence Coin

Thank you for the assistance and happy holidays!

These are indeed British Two pence coins. 1971 is the first year of issue and from there until 1983 they have the words "New Pence" on the reverse as this was the new decimal coinage replacing the old Pounds Shillings and Pence coinage used before. From 1983 onwards the word "New" was replaced with the number of pence.
None of the coins shown are scarce and 1971 is actually the commonest of all. All three can be found in circulation in the UK to this day and their value is face only - two pence or slightly over 2 Euro cents each.
Sorry if you thought they would be worth a fortune!

It seems this myth of 1971 dated 1p and 2p coins being super valuable is taking a long time to dissapate - the second such thread in as many days.

Funny too, how all the coins shown are VF or worse condition.
