I just purchased a huge lot of ancient coins and I am posting the few I could not attribute myself. Any help identifying this would be most appreciated. The obverse looks like a helmeted figure and the reverse looks like an animal of some sort, cow? Report this Post to the Staff

It does not seem to look like an elephant, but I could be wrong. Interestingly, I posted another unknown Greek coin today which does appear to have an elephant reverse... Kamnaskires Pillar of the Community United States 7066 Posts	Posted 12/24/2020 9:37 pm Assuming this is a bull (walking) reverse, I would imagine the coin may be an issue of Thourioi, Lucania. Hard to get a good read on the animal. The reverse definitely looks like a bull walking left to me in person. I couldnt find any matches on Wildwinds, my Sear book, or acs coin search.
