Came across this today, and it looks to me like the "D" is really close to the date on the one coin. Anyone seen this before?

Can't tell from those photos but RPM-008 has the D in roughly that spot.

@reese, since the mintmarks were applied by hand to the dies, there is a broad area of acceptable locations. Usually we tell folks that unless it is actually touching the date, then there is no added value. That said, of course keep it if you want!

Tropical bats is correct. That is similiar to RPM 8. Which does have a fair premium.

As an aside 1956 LWC minted in Denver are well known to be all over the place.
