Found this while searching a few rolls of 2 dollar coins recently, looks like someone broke it out of a set, and there are no clear signs of the SB initials on the obverse, and found it interesting enough to share, not too sure if it is common or not thought.

I knew something had to be off about it, looking at it under my microscope I realized some things just didn't seem to add up (the ugly toes and the bumps all over) but since I do not see 2004 toonies in my change that often I couldn't put my finger on it.

I did see that post you linked a while back, I'm a little surprised one of these made it out this far, I'm about 3.5 hours N/E of Toronto in a small tourist town.

What should one do when they find a counterfeit?

In previous years - I used to trade face value for counterfeit twoonies from the "Montreal Mint" - and take them to the RCMP for disposal. I have not done that in a few years... but I'll would love to XRF the ring and core of that coin - to see what it is made of.

SPP-Ottawa,
PM me your mailing address and ill get it sent your way this week. I really have no use for it, it is unique but not really something that is of much interest for me to have in my collection, all yours if you want it.
