I've been staring that this 2003 D penny for the last hour and trying to determine if this is indeed a die crack. I ended up using a flashlight to shine at an angle and as you can see in the two photos, anything that is raised on the coin has the light highlighted on the left side of the mark and the obvious scratch, it's on the right.

I guess I'm just asking for a 2nd set of eyes to confirm this for me...or tell me that I'm wrong.

Also, since I'm still new to this, is there much value in this or just something I can say that I found it?

Linear plating bubble above the head.
Just an indentation on the neck.

I see a linear plating bubble and a nick/gouge--pretty common/not unusual. Suggest posting full photos of the coin's obverse and reverse--helps provide overall context for the coin.
