Saw the news article on TV.
I was in Pompeii about 3 years ago; they were still excavating this area at the time.

I was also there way back in 1970, and the amount of extra building features and overall area from 1970 to 2017 is almost double.

Amazing how well preserved it is. I wonder if they served Door Mouse burgers and Worm fries?

What a find, and so well preserved. Fast food back in the day, who would have thought?

Do you want fries with that?

Thanks for sharing, great news. I was there a few times, I was lucking to go in 1983 where everything wasn't blocked off and you were able to move about the ruins freely.

Wonder what they will say about McDonalds and Burger King 2000 years from now

I saw this today on another site as well.

I visited Pompeii in June 2018. It was my #1 "Bucket List" place to visit.

Amazing colors on the paintings. I wonder if any coins were found in the shop?

Some thoughts on what they served there:

A far cry from pizza or piadina.

I wouldn't go so far as to classify any of it as having been "fast food"
Anyone reasonably familiar with the common cuisine of these regions knows that there is hardly such a thing as overcooked !
As my immigrant father used to say
( much to my puzzlement ! )
"When it's smoking it's still cooking"
When you start to see the flames ......
It's done !
