In this form I see alot of...never mind. Here is the deal.
I plan on making a trip to this vintage shop this weekend. Reason being... well, a while back when I went to this shop, I discovered that they had a super huge box containing 1000+ or more coins from all over the world with dates going all the way back to the 1600's.
I spent 5 hours in this store looking at them, majority beautiful. At that time I had not the slightest idea of coin's,values, error's ect. But I bought some. For about 20 dollars, I purchased these.

1. 1782 cr-15 Billion 1/24 thaler(the back of the holder says 1363 )
2. 1898 Indian cent
3. 1909 Jamaica 1/2 Penny
4. 1739 Georgius, Higley Copper 1739 VALUE ME Broad Axe, or HIBERNIA COIN ( your guess is as good as mine }
5. 1974 Barbados 10c Proof
6. 1790 ? 520le chza/ I doit, cop./ back says f128
7. 1927 Liberty nickel
8. 1982 vn.dechimo.balboa (looks exactly like a dime)
9. 7 beautiful 1943 steel Lincolns. 5 are d and 2 are s ( I will be posting the S mint marks for questions later
10. 1935 Lincoln, 1934 Lincoln, 2 1944 Lincolns in which 1 will be posted here for explanation. 1954d and a good 20 wheat's.

What I am trying to get at... well I assume the owner of this place is is a vintage collector, and now that I am a little more wiser about my error coins and some key date coins, I am going to spend some time in this store if the economy hasn't put him out in the last 5 months. I would like to share what I discover with this community.

I want you guys to post the coins in that are true errors, the coins that are unique/rare, the older coins like before 1900 because I saw alot of those.

I will print this list and go there and get prices and post them back here over the weekend. I will be purchasing some too.

Again, one of the coins I paid 25cents for had valued for way more when I had it checked out. I think they just collected them as vintage items for sales in the store and did not update prices.

Thanks

Hello

Welcome to the forum.

Like anything else that one buys you should
have some basic knowledge of those items and their values etc.
there are many books and articles as well as sites on line that will
help you to identify a coin and it's value depending on the coins grade. One pretty good site (besides looking in the books)is:
http://(131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed
This will be for foreign coins.
If you would like to know about some values of U.S. coins you can
get a pretty decent idea by starting out at this site:
http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/fmv.shtml

It takes some time and a little patience but it is also a lot of fun
and you learn a lot, especially about foreign coins and even history
by trying to match up your coin with the pics. they provide at the foreign coin site I listed above. You can also go to the proper forum
on here and ask a question about any coin you are not sure about.
Take a little time, have some fun and do your homework before going out and buying coins just because they are older ones.

Did my visit to the store. When I went there, I found about 15 coin boxes, 3 huge bowls, and 4 coin albums holding at least 200 in many types of coins from all over the world. I know this may not be the the proper area to post this until I look for errors. But I had to address this one......

For-All-My-Experts

whatever definition for it, I put it here because of the way he labeled this.
I assume now he has knowledge of what he is doing. When I say he had alot of coins, I mean he had alot. And he had the 3 bowls I mentioned earlier up.... sale price 3 coins for $1.00. I was able to sort through half of the entire collection my eyes set on U.S., he had many beautiful American coins, I saw nothing over $40, and the oldest of the half I went through was 1809 ( very worn though )
What I bought:

113 Buffalo
1946-s wheat
1937-s wheat
1920 Buffalo
1947-s wheat
1907 Indian
1900 Indian
1963 Proof Lincoln
1950-s wheat
2 1955 Wheats
1960-d small date Lincoln
1947-s wheat
1920 wheat1935-d buffalo
1930-d wheat
1927-p wheat
1942-s wheat
1944 wheat
1919-p wheat
1950-s wheat
1968-s lincoln
1919 wheat
1928 wheat
1943 wheat
1901 wheat
1927 wheat
1944-s wheat
1905 indian
1919 buffalo
1937 buffalo
1935 buffalo
1936 buffalo
1972-s lincoln
1918 wheat
1939 jefferson
1920-s wheat

Are you wanting to know the value of the coins you have purchased? If so it depends on condition. We'd need to see some detailed pics of the rarer coins to be able to ascertain a value to them

Is there a particular reason you are lookin for errors? From what I gather, there is a shop that sells coins that doesn't know the pricing of them. If so then I'd be taking my Krause World Coins book in there and go to town!

I'd be a lot easier to separate your posts into their subsequent forums such as World coins, US coins, and errors.

I believe that should be "billon" (no second "i"), not "billion". Billon is the name given to a low-fineness silver alloy. "1/24th thaler" sounds like it's from one of the German states, such as Prussia. I don't know what the other two codes mean; they might be catalogue numbers, or dealer stock numbers.

1739 Georgius, Higley Copper 1739 VALUE ME Broad Axe, or HIBERNIA COIN (your guess is as good as mine}

This sounds like an early American Colonial period token. If it's genuine, it could well be worth thousands, but I don't know if or how "Georgius" fits into the Higley token series. Post a pic in the US Classic Coins forum, for some more informed opinions on authenticity and value.

It is a dime, from Panama. At the time, the US Dollar and Panamanian balboa circulated at par (1:1 ratio).

xshift: Sorry, I ment 1899 Indian.

GraceOutcast: I wanted to give a word out about the store I found, what I purchased,a few errors I've come across and what should I purchase. The list is what I purchased so far and the nickel I posted...well I wonder if this an error because it caame from the store exactly as it appears, odd. I have never seen a coin dealer sell a damaged coin ( could be wrong ) which makes me question his knowledge on what he is selling. So I don't know where to post.

Sap: I dont know either, reason why I mentioned some of the older coins. I am fighting with the scanner and photobucket, and I will surely post pictures.
1739 Georgius, Higley Copper 1739 VALUE ME Broad Axe, or HIBERNIA COIN . I tried to compare it to those hibernia coins that were fake, but from the research I have so far, the obverse is different. I compared it to a New York Penny, not the same. What I did find though is that is very simular to the colonial coins, the ware on it is pretty bad, readable but bad.

I missed that one. Nice catch. Those pre 1909 wheat cents are really the valuable ones you know.
Why not make that guy a bulk price for everything? Maybe something like $0.10 each for all.
Rest in Peace

The nickel is not an error. It was tooled by a hobo and most likely traded for a meal.
