Hello,

Well I'm not sure where to start, Ive never really been into the whole coin collecting thing up until recently. My grandpa passed away right after Thanksgiving and he left all of the grandkids different pieces of his coin collections and I got a book that he put together that dates from 1979 and down, just happen to have a quarter from 1856 which of course sparked my interest even more so here I am

Welcome to coin collecting and the Coin Community!

A good place to start is reading up on coin collecting to gain some knowledge and especially getting some exposure to the different types of coins, so you can think about what you want to collect. A few good resources ...

Get a copy of a reasonably current RedBook of U.S. Coins. See -

I suspect you could find recently used versions discounted on ebay. You don't need to have a 2020 or 2021 edition if you need to save some money.

Good luck!
