Put this one away some time ago simply because it looked odd. After reading the previous post, do I have it right? Curious to whether it is worth keeping or a spender? Sorry for the lousy images as I am still a novice at this.

Is the edge smooth—missing the reeds? If so, then I am thinking it is a " Dryer Coin" or something similar.

You are right. The edge is totally smooth as if it had been rolled on edge for a long time causing the rim to expand all the way around on both sides. Definitely PMD but not sure why a Dryer Coin would leave the rim that much higher then the face of the coin both front and back. Maybe intentional damage.
