I am seeking knowledge. My medal is called shrine of the 3 Kings. I do not know if this is the proper name for this medal. I know Gottfried Drentwett was the artist. This is the info I am hoping someone knows or can direct me to find
1 how many of these medals did Drentwett create
2 who were these medals made for or who did they give them to how did people back in 1890 get them
3 is 3 kings shrine the proper name
4 value I'm not so worried about this #1 &2 I'm obsessed with finding out I just keep thinking in my head in 1880 I cant imagine them making enough to pass out like pennies so any help you can provide is greatly appreciated

I'm having a tough time reading the text on the medal but I will be trying to help out best I can.

I found some info. A mintage might not be available. It seems there are some very similar medals but text placement is different. Of the two bronze varieties I am seeing, yours seems to be a bit less common.
I believe it would better be found searching for
1880 Completion of the (KÖLN) Cologne Cathedral Medal.

The Cathedral side (obverse) is telling us
Cologne Cathedral began in 1248 and was completed in 1880

Good info
