The 2006 Olympic "Torino" circulating $2 commemorative has just been released by Italy. It is available on ebay at this present time or through European dealers. I will be getting the coins sometime in the near future out of Europe and usually get extra coins for friends here on the forum. Will have to let you know how I do as it appears they are going to run in the $4 to $5 with shipping this time around. For what it is worth the coins are VERY eye appealling bimetallic!

Will do just that! But I must warn you the force of the Darkside is strong!!! Did you get the opportunity to purchase the Greek Olympic $2? Another very sharp design and very affordable still! Check it out on ebay as I do believe my extras are now gone. Will check just in case!

I know for sure that Bulgarian mint has a coin with Torino games theme. see image
There's a coin with the title "The winter Olympic Games 2006" in Spanish mint's list.
Italy has eleven coins with this theme as Terry has mentioned (Silver 5E, 10 E and gold 20E and 50E face values). See here (details are in Italian, but the pics are nice)

I got lost searching through the mints' sites.
I guess other countries have Torino Winter games coins as well.

KLD I think you will find that many of the $2 commemoratives and most of the silver commemoratives from all the euro nations are steadily increasing in value. Some of the smaller nations are very limited by restrictions placed on their coinage by the E.U. so most of their offerings are very limited. Values tend to increase very rapidly on the secondary market. I started with the euro in 2002, when it was released, and have built a very nice collection of silver commemoratives. When the $2 circulating commemorative was introduced I included it in my ever expanding euro collection and have been very pleased with price increases as the $2 commemoratives are a one year deal and then they are gone! With so many nations involved the key is just keeping informed so you know what is coming and how you are going to get your hands on one!

I have got the Greek 2004 Olympic Games commemorative 2 Euros.I haven't seen anything about commemorative coins or commemorative medal-coins for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, which have been held in Turin. The name 'Torino' is just the Italian for 'Turin',which is actually the Piedmontese name that has crept into the English language.

Aidan.
