I need some help in finding the Cud numbers for 1944 PDS Lincoln cents. Does someone have the Cud Book to look up these numbers? Or can someone direct me to a website with this information. Thanks for your help.

Tepritts, I have the book. Could you give a little more information about which one you are looking for? The 1944P has 25 obverse Cuds listed and no reverse Cuds. The 1944D has 3 obverse and 1 reverse. The 1944S has 2 obverse and 1 reverse. My book is copyrighted in 1997 so I'm sure there have been more discovered since. Is there a certain one you are looking for?

pyrob, Does your book also cover Buffalo nickels? If so would you mind researching one more. I have a 1913-P T-2 with a reverse Cud at the 12:00 position. Here's a mock-up since I don't currently have a photo of this. Thanks.

PyrBob thanks for the information. I had no idea there were that many different ones. I wasn't looking for any particular one. I am trying to decide which are the most collectible and what's out there to find. Does your book have a top 10 or 100 Lincoln Cuds to collect? Also, for 1944 which ones do you think are the best to collect. Again, thanks for the information

Seatednut, there are 2 reverse 1913 type 2 Cuds. One is at the tail. The other is similar to yours but not the same. It is BNC-13-3R Ty2 and it runs from the S in STATES to the O in OF only removing half of the letters in STATES. So yours would be a different listing. Tepritts, That is a good question but unfortunately the book doesn't make it easy to answer that. The book is mainly a photo listing of Cuds giving each a number using the author's numbering system. It covers US colonials to US gold and then goes to foreign coins ending with tokens including civil war tokens. This photo part of the book is over 200 pages with about 12 coins per page. Values are listed by a range in the back of the book by coin type only. For instance a Lincoln Wheat Cud is listed with a value range of $4.00 to $250.00. There is no rarity or value for each coin in the book. So the book is mainly a listing of recorded Cuds and is not very useful for values or rarity. Still it is the only reference I can think of that covers Cuds in all series.

pyrob, It's probably the one you listed. I did that from memory (I'm at work and the coin is at home). At my advanced age that memory thingy is iffy.
